Sheba came to us as a kitten so badly mauled by a dog that the doctor strongly advised euthanasia.
However, our belief is that no matter how badly the odds are stacked against the animal, even if there is a 1% chance of survival, we will put in the effort to save the life.
Sheba’s spine had been injured, she had developed a nervous system injury and was unable to walk straight. In addition, she had also sustained injury to her right eye and was unable to take food in her mouth from a bowl.
We were very apprehensive about how she would be able to live a normal life but through Homeopathy Sheba staged a miraculous recovery.
In the beginning she had to be fed by hand with small pieces of food. She got her name because Sheba brand cat food was the only thing she ate, refusing everything else.
It was only much later that we realized She was a He! But by then, the name had stuck.
Slowly Sheba was able to keep and chew the food in his mouth and start to walk normally. He never recovered full eyesight in the right eye which makes him a bit wary of unsure territory.
Sheba now lives in a loving home with other cats and dogs and a menagerie of rescued animals who come for fostering.
