Where Providence Came To Our Help

We received a report about a litter of kittens dumped in a carton in an empty alley. Upon arriving at the site, we found 5 infants with their eyes barely opened. Such an act not only delivers a near death sentence for the kittens but also endangers the life of the mother. She has to undergo excruciating pain in the absence of suckling at the lactating stage. Apart from the severe emotional and psychological trauma, this exposes her to the danger of issues like milk fever. The kittens themselves have little if any immunity in the absence of mother’s milk and are prone to all sorts of diseases. Unfortunately, this is what happened, and despite all our efforts most of the kittens succumbed to feline form of parvo virus. With the lone survivor just about managing to stay alive, we were desperate to find a nursing mother who would perhaps be open to accepting her.

This is where providence came to our help. A lactating mother cat entered a close friend’s home out of nowhere and decided that was her place. As soon as we found out, we rushed the little one over. With fingers crossed, we hoped and prayed that the mother will accept her in the absence of her own little ones. And our earnest prayers were answered!

Not only did she allow the infant to suckle but started cleaning her as if she were one of her own! Within a matter of a few days the kitten started showing signs of recovery. At this stage, we were told of another infant, and we decided to stretch our luck. The mother accepted her too and soon we saw one beautiful happy & healthy family bubbling with life! Soon enough, we even found a loving home for them where the family hearing about their story decided to adopt them together!

Whenever we find ourselves in such desperate situations, this story always provides us with the ray of hope that propels us forward, and against all odds we continue praying for that Invisible Hand to grace our efforts once more!
